The sustained impact of film courses at both the Cambridgeshire Film Consortium at the Cambridge Arts Picturehouse and Cinema Plus at Cinema City, Norwich, is evident in the dissemination of film literacy in the wider region and through the professional development of tutors. The impact also offers the strengthening of audiences for specialised cinema in new venues.
Recommended tutors for the courses are shared between the venues, for example Sue Burge teaches in Cambridge, Norwich, Screen St Ives, Saffron Walden and Kings Lynn.
Tutors attend film courses and special education events taught by other experts to extend their own expertise and to teach in other venues. The film course attendees and tutors develop new venue activity in other parts of the region as seen in the Screen St Ives and the Kings Lynn Community Cinema.
As an example of the typical level of provision within an established venue; in the calendar year of 2014, Cinema Plus provided six evening courses and ten Saturday day schools for adult learners. Examples of subjects covered were Writing Movies (an Introduction to Scriptwriting), New American Cinema, Powell and Pressburger, The Coen Brothers and Nordic Noir.
