Alongside audience development, film education has a vital role to play in ensuring that everyone has the opportunity to engage with film across the UK. Film education can assist in growing the audience of today and tomorrow.
UK Film Policy Review (DCMS 2012)
In 2014 Cinema Plus and Cambridgeshire Film Consortium, both specialist film engagement organisations based in the East of England, were commissioned by Film Hub Central East to produce a report assessing the impact of engagement activities in developing audiences for specialised films in venues.
Broadening Cinema is an evidenced-based report that we believe clearly supports the case for the role education and other engagement activities play in building and developing audiences for non-mainstream film in venues.
